Frequently Asked Questions

How does online/virtual therapy work?

I use a HIPPA compliant software called Simple Practice that is very user friendly and easy to navigate. The program will email/text a link for every session and sends appointment reminders. You will have easy access to a “client portal” where you can fill out assessments, access billing documents and upload your billing information.

How do I get started and schedule my appointment?

To get started with HHC you can call, text or email us and let us know your scheduling availability. Chrissy will get back to you within 2 business days and will schedule a free 20-minute consultation call. This call is a great opportunity for us to introduce ourselves, hear more about our services, ask any questions you have and determine if we are a good fit for your needs at this time.

Why is therapy so expensive?

When you make the choice to start therapy, you want someone with specialized expertise for the specific issues you are struggling with. Therapists that have extensive training and special expertise often cost more because you are receiving high quality service.

The work we do together is not limited to our session times. I am constantly researching, attending new training sessions and developing individualized tools for you in between our sessions to help you heal, understand yourself deeper and keep us on track to meet your goals. I create specific homeworks for you in between our sessions to increase your progress and create habits that lead to lasting change.

Do you accept insurance?

Hunter Healing Collective does not accept insurance. We choose to work with you, not for insurance companies. We believe in a form of therapy that is tailored to you specifically and has the freedom to be exactly what you need it to be.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to find highly trained and specialized therapists who accept insurance. Insurance companies often have strict rules for how long and how frequently you can see your therapist and HHC believes these practices are not in the best interest of our clients. These are some reasons why most experienced therapists choose not to accept insurance.

HHC does provide superbills that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. HHC does not guarantee reimbursement and recommends reaching out to your insurance company to find out their policy on superbills and reimbursement for out of network providers. HHC is happy to provide any documents needed to help you get reimbursed if possible.
